INSPIRATION: Simplicity of form, a love of stone and an intellectual
curiosityabout new ideas and techniques stimulate Jacobson’s
imagination. CHALLENGE: Choosing to work in extremely hard and
durable stone, he enjoys the resistance and physical challenge of
creating his timeless and lasting works of art. AESTHETICS:
Trained in landscape design, Jacobson is interested in exploring
sculptural form, texture and contrast to enhance both human
and natural environments. A childhood influenced by San
Francisco’s Asian arts community and Japanese gardens; he
naturally expresses himself by interpreting a minimalist
contemporary Asian aesthetic. SCALE: Jacobson’s work
spans a range of sizes from sculptures designed for
residential interior and exterior placement, to large scale
public art commissions for municipalities and public institutions
